Workstations for Twinmotion
Twinmotion leans on the graphics card for real-time and path-traced work, and on fast single-thread CPU performance. We size these machines around GPU memory and clock speed.
What matters for Twinmotion
- A fast GPU with at least 12GB of memory, Epic’s high-end tier
- Strong single-thread CPU performance
- 64GB or more of system memory
- One GPU: Standard and Lumen real-time rendering do not use a second card
Epic sets two hardware tiers for Twinmotion: a minimum with 6GB of VRAM and 16GB of system memory, and a high-end tier with 12GB of VRAM and 64GB of memory, both with single-thread CPU score targets (Epic hardware specifications). Choose a high clock speed CPU with a moderate number of cores, and 64GB of memory for most users. Only the path tracer can use more than one GPU, on NVIDIA through SLI, and some card generations need a physical bridge. Standard and Lumen real-time rendering do not speed up with more cards (Epic path tracer requirements). We have not yet confirmed multi-GPU path tracing on current cards, so every configuration here uses one card. The range steps up in GPU: a 16GB RTX PRO 2000 above Epic’s high-end line, then the NVIDIA RTX PRO 5000 48GB, with 1,344 GB/s of memory bandwidth, then a 96GB RTX PRO 6000 for very large scenes. The path tracer needs Windows, DirectX 12 ray tracing and at least 8GB of VRAM.

Frequently asked questions
Only for the path tracer, and only on NVIDIA through SLI; some generations need a physical NVLink or SLI bridge. Standard and Lumen real-time rendering use one GPU (Epic path tracer requirements). We have not yet confirmed multi-GPU path tracing on current cards, so we recommend one powerful card.
Epic lists Windows with DirectX 12 ray tracing, an NVIDIA RTX or AMD RX 6000 series or newer card, and at least 8GB of VRAM (Epic path tracer requirements). Every configuration here meets that.
The NVIDIA RTX PRO 5000 48GB in Heavy suits most projects, with four times the 12GB of VRAM in Epic’s high-end tier (Epic hardware specifications). Choose the RTX PRO 6000 96GB in Studio for very large scenes, at a higher cost.
Standard suits students and smaller projects, with a 16GB card above Epic’s high-end VRAM line. Heavy is the fastest card for most professional work. Studio adds 96GB of GPU memory for very large scenes and heavy path tracing.
Yes. Press Customise and the configurator opens with this build already selected. You can change any part except the chassis, such as more storage or more memory, and the price updates as you go.
