Workstations for Gaussian Splatting
Gaussian splat training in Postshot and gsplat runs on NVIDIA GPUs, so the card sets the pace. We size these machines around the GPU first, with two cards in the Studio build so you can train two jobs at once.
What matters for Gaussian Splatting
- An NVIDIA GPU: Postshot needs an RTX 2060 or newer
- Windows for Postshot
- A second GPU to run two Postshot jobs side by side
- Multi-GPU support in gsplat
Postshot runs on Windows and needs an NVIDIA RTX 2060 or newer; Jawset does not publish memory figures (Jawset release notes). Version 0.4 added a command-line option to choose the training GPU, fixed training on GPUs other than the first, cut training memory by about 15% and enabled headless server GPUs (Jawset). Jawset does not document splitting one job across GPUs, so with two cards you would run one job per GPU. gsplat is a CUDA library that uses up to four times less training memory than the original implementation, and it supports multi-GPU distributed rasterisation, with each GPU holding part of the scene (gsplat documentation). Neither tool publishes scaling figures. So Standard uses an NVIDIA RTX PRO 4500 32GB in an Electron, and Heavy moves to an NVIDIA RTX PRO 5000 48GB for more GPU memory. Studio puts two RTX PRO 6000 Max-Q 96GB cards in an Atom, so you can train two Postshot jobs side by side or run gsplat across both cards.

Frequently asked questions
Yes. Jawset lists Windows and an NVIDIA RTX 2060 or newer as requirements (Jawset release notes). Every configuration here uses NVIDIA and ships with Windows 11 Pro.
Jawset does not document that. Since version 0.4 you can choose the training GPU from the command line (Jawset), so with two cards you can run two jobs at once, one on each GPU.
Yes. gsplat supports distributed rasterisation across several GPUs, with each GPU holding part of the scene (gsplat documentation). Scaling figures are not published.
Jawset does not publish a figure for Postshot, and version 0.4 reduced training memory by about 15% (Jawset). gsplat uses up to four times less training memory than the original implementation (gsplat documentation). Tell us your typical capture size and we will advise.
Standard suits learning and smaller captures. Heavy adds GPU memory with the NVIDIA RTX PRO 5000 48GB. Studio is for teams that train several scenes at once, or for running gsplat across two 96GB cards.
