Workstations for the Disguise X Series
Renderboxes is a Disguise-recommended hardware partner for the X Series, and every build below supports Disguise X1, X2 and X3. The licence sets the number of video outputs, one, two or three 4K DCI, and every build is a Photon with a single GPU, as Disguise specifies.
What matters for Disguise
- One GPU per machine: Disguise does not currently support dual-GPU setups
- At least 24GB of system memory, or twice the GPU memory
- A media drive that sustains 3GB/s read and write
- At least 8 cores and 16 threads
- An NVIDIA RTX PRO GPU for genlock and Mosaic
The Disguise X Series runs on a single graphics card. Disguise does not currently support dual-GPU setups, so every configuration here is one Photon with one GPU, and larger shows add more Photons, each with its own X Series licence. X1, X2 and X3 differ only in output capacity, so every build supports all three. Disguise’s specification asks for at least 8 cores and 16 threads, at least 24GB of memory or twice the GPU memory, and a media drive that sustains 3GB/s read and write.
The builds step up by GPU memory. Standard and Heavy use the NVIDIA RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell 24GB and the RTX PRO 4500 Blackwell 32GB. Studio and Team move to the RTX PRO 5000 Blackwell 48GB and the RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Max-Q 96GB for heavier content, with the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 and a second NVMe drive. Disguise lists Renderboxes as a recommended hardware partner for the X Series.

Frequently asked questions
No. Disguise’s specification says dual-GPU setups are not currently supported. For more outputs, choose an X2 or X3 licence; for more canvases or heavier content, run more Photons, each with its own X Series licence.
Yes. Designer runs on the Photon with a Disguise X1, X2 or X3 licence on a CodeMeter dongle. Licences are bought directly from Disguise. Our Disguise partner page has more detail.
Disguise’s specification lists Windows 10 Pro 22H2, Windows 10 Enterprise SAC 1809, Windows 11 Business 23H2 or Windows 11 Enterprise GAC 23H2. These configurations are shown with Windows 11 Pro; tell us if you need a different edition and we will confirm the setup before you order.
Disguise recommends a 1GbE port for media, a dual-port 25GbE Mellanox ConnectX-5 or ConnectX-6 card for RenderStream, and a media drive that sustains 3GB/s read and write. Tell us if you use RenderStream so we can discuss the network card.
Choose by the GPU memory your content needs. Standard and Heavy, with the NVIDIA RTX PRO 4000 24GB and RTX PRO 4500 32GB, are the starting points. Studio and Team move to 48GB and 96GB cards for heavier content, with the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 and a second NVMe drive. Every build supports X1, X2 and X3. If you are unsure, tell us about your show and we will recommend one.
X1, X2 and X3 differ in output capacity: one, two or three 4K DCI outputs, each with a GUI output as well. Every build here supports all three. Licences are bought directly from Disguise.
Yes. Select Customise on any build to add a DELTACAST DELTA-12G2c-hmi10-elp capture card, an NVIDIA RTX PRO Sync card for genlock and frame lock, or both. The Photon takes one of each alongside its GPU.
